Our Department of Corrections program is in place to provide medication assisted therapy services to incarcerated individuals. The Therapist role involves providing assessment and treatment interventions consistent with the program model, conducting clinical and risk assessments, and collaborating with individuals to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans. The position requires demonstrating competency in age-related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served, and working with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural support. Additionally, the role involves maintaining collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers, providing crisis assessment and intervention, and potentially providing care in various settings. Responsibilities include maintaining client and staff records, providing coverage for team members, participating in supervision and meetings, and potentially transporting clients. Therapists in residential programs prioritize safety and physical presence as full members of the milieu. Additional responsibilities may be required.
