The Department of Corrections program provides medication assisted therapy services to incarcerated individuals. The Therapist role involves providing assessment and treatment interventions consistent with the program model, conducting clinical and risk assessments, and collaborating with individuals to create individualized, person-centered treatment plans. The position requires demonstrating competency in age-related or specialty issues and developmental needs, working with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans, and maintaining collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers. The role also includes providing crisis assessment and intervention, potentially providing care in various settings, maintaining client and staff records, providing coverage for team members, participating in supervision and meetings, and transporting clients if required. Additionally, therapists in residential programs prioritize safety and physical presence as full members of the milieu. Participation in required training and obtaining/maintaining EBP certification is also expected.
