About The Position

West Pines Behavioral Hospital is a 144-bed inpatient behavioral health facility serving residents of the Denver area. Located in Westminster, Colorado, the hospital is a joint venture between Intermountain Health and Acadia Healthcare and provides inpatient and intensive outpatient behavioral health services. The Therapist applies psychotherapeutic techniques to treat patients with diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders, assesses patients, develops treatment and discharge plans, and coordinates care in inpatient or outpatient settings. This is a PRN position.

Requirements

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a Human Services field.
At least one year of experience working with a comparable patient population.
Requisite state or national licensure for professional therapy providers, or eligibility for state licensure as a professional therapy provider.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.
First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to treat individuals and families with diagnosed emotional and behavioral disorders.
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
Conduct individual, group, or family therapy sessions as appropriate to each patient's treatment plan.
Provide initial treatment planning based on assessments, coordinate additional services, and revise plans as necessary.
Document therapy services according to facility and professional standards, revising documentation as indicated.
Maintain an assigned caseload.
Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate services consistent with patient treatment plans.
Provide services in inpatient or outpatient settings as appropriate.
Perform case management, discharge planning, or aftercare planning as needed.
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers; acknowledge and work to resolve unmet patient needs and complaints, prioritizing patient safety.
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
