The Women in Recovery (WIR) Therapist provides direct, gender-specific individual and group counseling, as well as family and relationship counseling, in a day treatment format. Services emphasize recovery from substance abuse, role-modeling, women-only groups, trauma, health and wellness, parenting, and family reunification. The Therapist maintains and cultivates relationships with external agencies, including court personnel, ancillary service providers, and referring agencies. WIR is an intensive outpatient alternative for eligible women facing long prison sentences. The Therapist works closely with the criminal justice system and community partners to help participants receive supervision, substance abuse and mental health treatment, education, workforce readiness training, and family reunification services. The work supports participants in addressing addiction and trauma and developing the economic, emotional, and social tools to build productive lives. The position is part of an innovative Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model of care. This team-based, whole-person approach uses multidisciplinary collaboration to coordinate services for adults and children with complex mental health and substance use challenges. The role is classified as safety-sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. A medical marijuana license does not exclude an applicant, but all employees are subject to the agency’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
