About The Position

Kalamazoo Behavioral Health Hospital is adding therapists to its clinical services team to provide care to patients and families throughout the recovery journey. The Therapist provides daily individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and care coordination under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Services. The role is for a master’s-prepared clinician focused on trauma-informed care, compassion, and patient safety.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling, Psychology, or a related human services field.
For candidates with a master’s degree in Counseling: an associate or full counseling license is required.
For candidates with a master’s degree in Social Work: an associate or temporary license in the state of employment is required.
Experience developing and administering treatment plans.
Knowledge of individual and group counseling techniques.
Exceptional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of clinical experience in a behavioral healthcare or acute psychiatric setting.
Previous experience in an acute inpatient behavioral health hospital.
For candidates with a master’s degree in Social Work, a full license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead overall treatment planning efforts.
Participate in care conferences with families and providers and provide family and provider care updates.
Address psychosocial needs and complete related documentation or responsibilities.
Coordinate and facilitate development of discharge plans of care, including managing the complex discharge process.
Ensure an exceptional care experience for patients and families.
Provide daily individual and group counseling.
