About The Position

The Therapist with Thresholds' Young Adult Program utilizes clinical skills to make a difference in the lives of youth and young adults. This role involves working closely with the treatment team to create effective treatment plans using best clinical practices. The Therapist provides trauma-informed individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention to young adults aged 16-21 who have severe and persistent mental illness and significant trauma histories. Therapy sessions and groups are conducted at the program’s main office and in client residences. The Therapist acts as the clinical hub for their caseload, leading clinical staffing and treatment team meetings, and participating in clinical data collection and outcomes tracking. Requirements

  • Passion for providing mental health services to a young adult population
  • Patience and flexibility to meet youth where they’re at
  • Strong clinical & relationship-building skills
  • Good writing skills
  • Excellent time management & organization
  • Valid driver's license, current insurance, and daily access to a car
  • Willingness to work evenings 2 days each week
  • Ability to perform Therapeutic Crisis Intervention therapeutic restraint techniques, which require moderate exertion, being able to lift 40 pounds, and the mobility to lower self to a kneeling position on the floor (training provided and required by Thresholds)
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical licensure preferred (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, LSW, LPC)
  • Prior experience providing mental health services to young adults strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work very closely with the treatment team to create effective treatment plans, utilizing best clinical practices
  • Provide trauma-informed individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention to young adults ages 16-21 with severe and persistent mental illness along with significant trauma histories
  • Run individual therapy and groups at the program’s main office and in the residences
  • Lead as the clinical hub for the youth on your caseload
  • Run clinical staffing and treatment team meetings
  • Participate in clinical data collection and outcomes tracking
