About The Position
Senior Health Counseling Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated part-time therapist to provide mental health services to our skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate is empathetic, adaptable, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality care to adults and seniors across various clinical settings.
Requirements
- Master's degree: LCSW, LPC, LCPC, CMHC, LMFT, or equivalent
- Proficiency with DSM-5 and treatment planning
- Strong documentation and computer skills (Microsoft Word, EHR systems)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases
- Reliable transportation for travel between local facilities
Nice To Haves
- Experience with geriatric populations preferred, but not required
- Adapts easily to changing facility conditions resident health fluctuations, and interdisciplinary needs.
- Exhibits flexibility and creative problem-solving in response to variable schedules, session interruptions, and limited private spaces
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with nursing and rehab teams
- Stays calm, professional, and organized in dynamic or unpredictable settings
- Builds rapport quickly and engage clients in meaningful therapy
- Manages your time and documentation independently and efficiently
Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling or psychotherapy to adults and seniors
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Diagnose using DSM-5 criteria
- Offer appropriate resources and referrals as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Manage a personal caseload effectively and independently
