About The Position

South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist to join our Short Term Residential (SRT) program. This role provides individual, group, and family therapy to clients experiencing acute mental health crises, supporting stabilization and recovery. The Therapist plays a key role in treatment planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and discharge coordination to ensure continuity of care. South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit, Joint Commission-accredited behavioral healthcare provider serving Southeast Palm Beach County. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field (required)
  • Minimum one (1) year of therapy experience with chronically mentally ill or dually diagnosed populations
  • Strong knowledge of adult mental health and crisis intervention
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to complete timely clinical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3)+ years of clinical therapy experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of therapy experience with chronically mentally ill or dually diagnosed populations
  • Strong knowledge of adult mental health and crisis intervention
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to complete timely clinical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients in a short-term residential setting
  • Conduct intake assessments and complete psychosocial evaluations within required timeframes
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans within five (5) days of admission
  • Review and update treatment plans regularly based on client progress
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Develop discharge plans and coordinate aftercare services
  • Provide support during crisis stabilization periods
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support CCSU as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in client records
  • Complete progress notes and required reports in accordance with agency standards
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
