About The Position

Join our team and help the farmers in our local communities, food service operations serving school lunches, cafeterias, nursing homes, restaurants, and food manufacturers that utilize our ingredients to make a wide array of delicious products. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals for this temporary production bagger position, which is a short-term role with the possibility of hiring full-time.

Requirements

  • Must be able to closely follow operational instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to read and write legibly in English.
  • Ability to read scales and equipment used for weighing or measuring.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, or move repetitively for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to lift on a regular basis up to 70 pounds above shoulder height.
  • Able to tolerate dust or chemicals.
  • Must not be affected by moving equipment and machinery.
  • Bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, climbing, crawling, and crouching as required.
  • Must be available all days and all hours.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the potato dehydration process is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Bagging finished product and stacking the bagged product onto pallets.
  • Observing scale readings and ensuring bag weight accuracy on every bag.
  • Verifying the use of correct bags and labels.
  • Verifying all code dates are legible and accurate, bag seals are secure, and the correct quantity of bags is placed on each pallet.
  • Setting an empty product bag for filling.
  • Lifting or sliding the bagged product onto the scale once filled.
  • Sliding and/or lifting the bagged product through the heated glue sealer, visually aligning the bag for correct sealing.
  • Ensuring all markings on product bags are legible.
  • Physically lifting the bagged product off the conveyor and stacking it on the pallet according to customer and company specifications.
  • Ensuring bags, labels, stickers, and printouts are correct and neatly adhered.
  • Working with the Line Lead or appropriate personnel to check and/or change magnets as scheduled.
  • Taking product samples to the Lab as needed.
  • Visually inspecting the product in the bag and in totes for any defects, foreign material, or other potential issues.
  • Understanding and following metal detector procedures and policy exactly as stated.
  • Immediately reporting problems to the Shift Manager.
  • Cleaning up all spills and keeping work areas free of debris and potential hazards.
  • Using caution around moving parts and equipment.
  • Keeping areas of responsibility clean and well-maintained during shift hours, and ensuring the area is clean for the next shift.
  • Complying with all safety regulations and following all plant and safety policies.
  • Following all company and regulatory good manufacturing practices.
  • Completing all other responsibilities as necessary.
