About The Position

Austin Oaks Hospital, an 80-bed facility offering psychiatric services for adults and adolescents, is seeking qualified, energetic candidates for its Outpatient Branches. The hospital provides a home-like environment on a beautiful 13-acre campus, focusing on crisis resolution, self-awareness, social skills, and personal growth through inpatient and outpatient programs. The Therapist-PRN role at the Outpatient Branches involves developing and writing treatment plans and discharge summaries, acting as a liaison with other disciplines, physicians, families, and outside agencies, and assessing, designing, structuring, and implementing therapeutic services to meet patient and family needs. The role requires collaborative work within a treatment team under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Director.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed to practice psychotherapy in the State of Texas (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) or under supervision for licensure (LMSW, LPC-I, or LMFT-A).
  • Masters Degree in Behavioral Health field.
  • Current State Licensure.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
  • Is deemed a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP).
  • At least 6 months work experience providing individual, group and family therapy, case management and discharge planning in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric facility.
  • Familiarity with ethical and legal issues regarding reporting of abuse and neglect.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior inpatient adult psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Prior inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and writing treatment plans and discharge summaries within established time frames and formats.
  • Is a liaison with other disciplines, colleagues, physicians, families, and outside agencies.
  • Responsible for assessing, designing, structuring, and implementing therapeutic services that best meets the needs of patients and their families.
  • Working collaboratively as a treatment team member.
