About The Position

Austin Oaks Hospital, an 80-bed facility offering psychiatric services for adults and adolescents, is seeking qualified candidates for a PRN Therapist position in its Inpatient unit. The hospital provides a home-like environment focused on crisis resolution, self-awareness, social skills, and personal growth through inpatient and outpatient programs. The position involves working collaboratively within a treatment team under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Director.

Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice psychotherapy in the State of Texas (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) or under supervision for licensure (LMSW, LPC-I, or LMFT-A).
• Masters Degree in Behavioral Health field.
• Current State Licensure.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• At least 6 months work experience providing individual, group and family therapy, case management and discharge planning in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric facility.
• Familiarity with ethical and legal issues regarding reporting of abuse and neglect.

Nice To Haves

• Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date.
• Prior inpatient adult psychiatric experience preferred.
• Prior inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Developing and writing treatment plans and discharge summaries within established time frames and formats.
• Serving as a liaison with other disciplines, colleagues, physicians, families, and outside agencies.
• Assessing, designing, structuring, and implementing therapeutic services that best meet the needs of patients and their families.
• Working collaboratively as a treatment team member.
