About The Position

Therapist, Outpatient Services About POWER POWER is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping women reclaim their lives from addiction. We provide trauma-informed treatment and recovery support services for women with substance use and co-occurring disorders, fostering a safe, supportive environment where women can heal, grow, and build lasting recovery. Why This Role Matters The Therapist plays a critical role in helping women achieve recovery and improved behavioral health outcomes. Through evidence-based treatment, clinical assessment, care coordination, and ongoing therapeutic support, this position empowers women to overcome substance use disorders, address co-occurring mental health challenges, strengthen family relationships, and build sustainable recovery pathways. As a member of POWER's interdisciplinary treatment team, the Therapist ensures services are delivered in compliance with DDAP regulations, ASAM Criteria, and best practices in trauma-informed, gender-responsive care.

Requirements

Master's degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Services, or a closely related behavioral health field.
Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health-related field may be considered if qualifications meet DDAP requirements for outpatient treatment services.
Two (2) years of experience providing behavioral health, substance use disorder, or co-occurring treatment services preferred.
Experience conducting assessments, treatment planning, and individual and group counseling.
Experience utilizing electronic health record systems.
Knowledge of Pennsylvania DDAP regulations and ASAM Criteria.
Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements.
Strong clinical documentation, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to build therapeutic rapport with diverse populations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Act 73, Act 33, and Act 34 Clearances.

Nice To Haves

LPC, LCSW, LSW, LMFT, LAPC, or other applicable Pennsylvania behavioral health license.
If not independently licensed, CADC, CAADC, CCS, or other Pennsylvania Certification Board credential or willingness to pursue within first 2 years of employment.
Experience in outpatient substance use disorder treatment.
Experience serving women, pregnant and parenting women, or individuals with co-occurring disorders.
Experience implementing ASAM Criteria.
Experience working with individuals receiving Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD).
Experience in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented systems of care.
Experience providing telehealth services.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, substance use evaluations, risk assessments, and mental health screenings.
Complete ASAM multidimensional assessments and determine appropriate levels of care.
Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans based on strengths, needs, goals, and clinical presentation.
Review and update treatment plans in accordance with DDAP, payer, and organizational requirements.
Conduct ongoing assessment of readiness for change, return to use risk, recovery capital, and treatment progress.
Participate in treatment team meetings, clinical case consultations, and utilization review activities.
Develop discharge and continuing care plans that support long-term recovery and successful community reintegration.
Provide individual, group, and family counseling services utilizing evidence-based practices.
Facilitate process and psychoeducational groups addressing substance use, recovery skills, return to use prevention, emotional regulation, trauma, parenting, and healthy relationships.
Utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed interventions, and other clinically appropriate treatment modalities.
Deliver trauma-informed, gender-responsive, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented services.
Monitor treatment progress and adjust interventions based on clinical needs.
Conduct crisis intervention, safety planning, suicide risk screening, and referrals as appropriate.
Incorporate harm reduction, overdose prevention, return to use prevention, and recovery management strategies into treatment services.
Coordinate care with psychiatrists, physicians, MOUD providers, case managers, child welfare professionals, probation officers, and community partners.
Assist clients in accessing healthcare, housing, employment, education, childcare, recovery support services, and other community resources.
Coordinate referrals and transitions between levels of care utilizing ASAM criteria.
Collaborate with Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS), peer providers, and recovery support organizations.
Remove barriers to treatment engagement, retention, and recovery through proactive care coordination.
Support continuity of care through communication and collaboration with internal and external providers.
Complete clinical documentation accurately, thoroughly, and within established timelines.
Maintain electronic health records in accordance with DDAP regulations, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, managed care requirements, and organizational policies.
Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and clinical contacts.
Ensure documentation supports medical necessity, reimbursement requirements, and quality care standards.
Participate in chart audits, utilization reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance activities.
Utilize clinical outcome measures and progress data to inform treatment planning and service delivery.
Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
Maintain required licensure, certification, credentialing, and continuing education requirements.
Support organizational quality improvement efforts and accreditation activities.
Promote a culture of recovery, wellness, respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain assigned caseloads and productivity standards established by the organization.
Complete required documentation within established organizational timeframes.
Maintain treatment plan, assessment, and documentation of compliance standards.
Participate in outcomes measurement and performance improvement activities.
Meet supervision, training, continuing education, and credentialing requirements.
