The purpose of the Intern Therapist position is to build mastery of counseling and social work skills with a variety of experiences including caring for patients with a primary psychiatric disorder for whom they would compile assessments, treatment plans, and aftercare plans. Depending on their academic level, Interns also have the opportunity to engage in group counseling, observe family sessions, and participate in treatment team meetings and staffing. All interns are required to document interactions within policy requirements. Intern Therapists work under the close and direct supervision of the Therapists and Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to assist in program delivery, development, and implementation. Therapy Interns may give feedback and assistance to program implementation and problem solving. Springwoods Behavioral Health, an 80-bed behavioral health facility located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, provides acute inpatient treatment for adolescent, adult, and specialty program for women. The hospital also offers outpatient treatment. Our six-acre campus is adjacent to a 123-acre Audubon Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary, which is held in perpetuity and cannot be developed from its natural state. This provides Springwoods with a peaceful setting for those embarked on the road to recovery.
