About The Position

The New Horizons Treatment and Recovery Program Therapist II (Clinical Services Caseworker) position is part of a team that provides creative, evidence-based therapeutic services to improve and empower individuals to successfully manage complex mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorder issues in an outpatient setting. Prince William County Community Services (CS) is a dynamic agency that fosters innovation, embraces inclusivity, offers opportunities to professionally learn and grow, and uses a team approach to achieve the highest level of service-driven results for individuals and their families. This full-time, clinic-based position has a flexible schedule with a 4 or 5-day work week that includes Thursday evenings until 8:00 p.m. The position provides outpatient services in the CS Woodbridge office. This position qualifies for a $5,000 hiring bonus, paid in two equal installments after 90 days of employment and upon successful completion of the probationary period. The Therapist II position is uniquely situated within a team of clinicians who split their time working in the office and providing services within area public high schools.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field
  • Ability to demonstrate licensure eligibility for professional licensure as an LCSW or LPC in the Commonwealth of Virginia and achieve independent licensure within 48 months
  • 1-2 years of experience providing services to children, adolescents and families with issues related to mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders in an outpatient care setting
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must pass DMV record check
  • Must pass TB test
  • Must pass and maintain first aid and CPR certification
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based National Criminal History Record Check.
  • Not eligible for employment with barrier crime history

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing case management and direct clinical services to youth and families with complex mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders
  • Experience providing group and family therapy for youth
  • Experience with Medicaid-funded services for youth
  • Experience collaborating with other service providers
  • Possess an unrestricted LPC or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a caseload of individuals served
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to include the ASAM criteria, WHODAS and formulating diagnoses
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Providing outpatient treatment and case management services to youth and families with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring issues
  • Maintaining clinical documentation in Electronic Health Record according to agency, Medicaid, MCO and licensure policies and procedures for own caseload
  • Provides crisis intervention services for own caseload
  • Develops and maintains effective collaborative relationships with other professionals, service providers, and community agencies
