About The Position

A behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) services organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), and other qualified licensed clinicians to join its multidisciplinary team. The organization provides integrated mental health and substance use treatment services across the continuum of care, serving individuals and families throughout Alaska. The Therapist/Counselor will provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients participating in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment programs. Flexible scheduling and in-person, telehealth, or hybrid opportunities may be available based on program needs.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Alaska license as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent master's-level clinician, or eligibility for Alaska licensure or reciprocity.
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related clinical field.
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, time-management, and EHR skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks and credentialing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders preferred.
  • Telehealth service-delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, including CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing.
  • Conduct clinical intake assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client's needs and goals.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans and goals as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric providers, psychologists, SUD counselors, case managers, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning as needed.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic process groups.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Ensure services and documentation meet Alaska Medicaid, 1115 Waiver, and State Plan requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, clinical supervision, case reviews, and ongoing training.
