Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Therapeutic Services Manager-Social Work to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the operation of a unit within the University or Medical Center. This role involves developing work goals, planning to achieve them, initiating changes in policies and procedures, and ensuring the most effective operation of the unit through program development and process improvement. The manager will supervise a unit, coordinate activities across functions, and adjust work schedules to meet changing conditions. This position also requires providing information to others, participating in management meetings, and defining and achieving financial targets for the unit. The role involves preparing and monitoring budgets, financial reports, and attending financial statement meetings. Additionally, the manager will ensure defined service standards are met or exceeded, use patient/customer satisfaction data for improvement, and foster a safe, satisfying, and enriching environment for employees. This includes ensuring a qualified and competent staff by tracking staffing needs against competencies, defining qualifications and performance expectations, and ensuring staff qualifications are consistent with job responsibilities and regulatory requirements. The manager will create an environment that encourages self-development and learning through feedback, training, and assessing competencies. Monitoring quality assurance standards and ensuring defined quality standards are met within the area of responsibility are also key aspects of this role.
