Therapeutic Recreation Assistant (Part time)
About The Position
Seabury is seeking a part-time Therapeutic Recreation Assistant to join their team. This role involves coordinating and facilitating social, recreational, and creative programs for Skilled Nursing residents. The assistant will lead activities such as music, art, exercise, games, gardening, and crafts. Responsibilities include transporting residents in wheelchairs to and from activities. The ideal candidate will have an upbeat and positive personality, aiming to enhance the quality of life for residents. This position is 24 hours per week, primarily in the afternoons and evenings, with every other weekend required. The schedule is flexible.
Requirements
- Certified, has a degree in, or is currently in school for Therapeutic Recreation or interested in becoming certified.
- Upbeat and positive personality.
- Ready to assist in enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate programs of social, recreational, and creative programs for Skilled Nursing residents.
- Lead activities such as music, painting/drawing, exercise, board/card games, puzzles, gardening, word games, field trips, and crafts.
- Lead one-on-one as well as larger group activities.
- Transport residents in wheelchairs to and from daily group activities and throughout the building as needed.
