About The Position
Excel at Woodbury is hiring for Per diem Therapeutic Recreation Aides. This role requires reliability, a fun and engaging personality for resident activities, and experience in long-term care. The ideal candidate will be upbeat, energetic, and possess a caring personality, functioning effectively as a team player.

- High school diploma
- Physical fitness: ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
- Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent resource management and record-keeping.
- Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Musical/Artistic talent
- Two years’ experience in recreation in a geriatric setting
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Certain certifications may be required.
- More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related may be preferred.
- Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc.
Responsibilities
- Engage residents in activities.
- Supervise activities and special events for residents.
- Create programs to get residents involved and excited.
- Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
