About The Position

Excel at Woodbury is hiring a per diem Therapeutic Recreation Aide to support resident activities. The role calls for a reliable, upbeat, energetic, caring, and engaging person who can help create programs that get residents involved and excited, and supervise activities and special events. Long-term care experience is required. Recreation experience in a geriatric setting and creative talents such as art, music, reading, or dance are preferred.

• Good listening and communication skills.
• Patience and compassion when working with others, particularly people who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
• Adaptability and strong organization and time-management skills.
• Resource-management and record-keeping skills.
• Physical ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
• Willingness to adhere to and enforce safety policies and procedures.
• A high school diploma and certain certifications may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred two years of recreation experience in a geriatric setting.
• Musical or artistic talent, including skills in art, music, reading, or dance.
• More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related areas may be preferred.
