About The Position

The City of Tacoma Municipal Court is seeking a Therapeutic Courts Case Manager to monitor and facilitate services for participants of the Tacoma Municipal Therapeutic Courts providing direct support to Therapeutic Court participants, monitoring compliance with court conditions, and coordinating care with community social service agencies. This is a grant funded position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, social work or directly related field
  • Two (2) years professional, paid on-the-job social services experience; OR one (1) year of professional case management experience in a behavioral health or criminal justice setting utilizing DSM-5 diagnostic frameworks and associated treatment resources

Responsibilities

  • Track and guide clients through program referral, entry, participation, dismissal, and graduation
  • Conduct risk-needs assessments, review records, and collaborate with other professionals to determine the behavioral health and psychosocial needs of court participants
  • Coordinate referrals to treatment providers, education programs, housing, employment services and other community resources
  • Develop and implement a case plan for each participant
  • Serve as a liaison between community social service agencies and the court.
  • Report to the court on participant treatment progress and actively participate in team staffing and court hearings
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date and complete records of all participants and collateral contacts.
  • Prepare necessary documents for weekly staff meetings and court hearings
  • Present and facilitate staffing meetings and make professional recommendations to the team
  • Participate in relevant training on therapeutic court best practices and other related continuing education opportunities
  • Actively participate in outreach efforts and other initiatives to support participants, maintain engagement with community agencies, and provide education on therapeutic courts
  • Provide comprehensive crisis assessments, safety planning, and connection to relevant community crisis intervention services
  • Assist in teambuilding and training new team members
