The Theater Technician will work as an all-around theater technician. The role will require a willingness to learn new skills, as well as expand and/or adjust previously owned skills. The Theater technician is a part-time role which will work an average of 8-15 hours a week. Hours may extend during high production timelines, and in the Summer. The theater technician is expected to be a leader and role model to the community as well as a mentor to volunteers and participants. Bellevue Youth Theatre is a Community driven program that seeks to break down barriers and expand participation to all who cross our doors. The ideal candidate would place community over artistry, and mentorship over production value. All Theatrical Technicians reports directly to the Production Manager, Moises Hinojos. This is a continuous, part-time position. Upon the completion of one production, technician will be assigned to new projects. This position can anticipate working on approximately 10 productions a year in addition to camps, averaging 8-15 hours per week, annually, with the option for more during the busiest production seasons. The Bellevue Youth Theatre is dedicated to providing theater arts opportunities for all young people, regardless of income or ability. We produce 10-12 mainstage shows a year in addition to 12 weeks of theatre day camps. We also offer technical support for various events around the City of Bellevue.
