Theatre Attendant
About The Position
TO Live is currently seeking Theatre Attendants to join their team for a diverse lineup of shows and activities. These positions are cross-venue, operating at Meridian Hall, Meridian Arts Centre, and St. Lawrence Centre. These are seasonal, part-time roles for outgoing, customer-service-oriented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, diverse theatre environment. The roles require a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekday evenings, and weekends, with mandatory weekday matinee shifts. This is a unionized position, and successful candidates will be required to join IATSE Local B-173.
Requirements
- A commitment to superior customer service.
- An outgoing personality, strong communication skills, and enjoyment interacting with people.
- A calm attitude.
- An interest in promoting upcoming TO Live shows and events.
- Ability to be on feet for at least 90 minutes.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Prior theatre experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Direct patrons to seats and theatre amenities.
- Escort patrons requiring assistance.
- Distribute programs.
- Scan tickets.
- Communicate patron concerns to house management in a timely fashion.
- Provide all aspects of customer service.
- Act as a sales and marketing ambassador to incoming audiences.
- Remain alert to identify any issues or problems in the audience, such as noise or inappropriate behavior that disturbs other patrons or the show, or any emergency, such as sudden illness.
