About The Position

Collegiate School seeks a Production Technician to join a collaborative team supporting the Fine Arts, school community, and rental clients. This role is crucial for maintaining the operations of the recently renovated Oates Theater and other campus venues. It is a full-time, benefited, 12-month position with pay starting at $25/hour, with the actual rate determined by experience, education, skills, and internal equity.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating theatrical lighting, sound, and projection equipment.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Experience using MS office (Power Point, Excel, and Word) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Sensitivity to the developmental stages and well-being of children.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • The willingness to climb ladders and work in catwalks.
  • Experience in and commitment to the ongoing development and maintenance of an inclusive campus community.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical theater, lighting or sound design, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support with lighting, sound, staging, and special needs for events and performances at all campus venues.
  • Setup and strike of lighting and sound equipment for rental clients, school rehearsals, productions, and assemblies.
  • Operate fly rail systems in Oates Theater.
  • Operate a variety of power tools.
  • Work with Hershey Center staff to fulfill daily operation needs.
  • Assist with house management for specified events.
  • Assist with ticketing sales.
  • Perform basic maintenance on lighting instruments, cables, and power tools.
  • Assist in maintaining and organizing the Oates Theater Scene Shop.
  • Operate basic video camera.
  • Operate software such as QLab, Wirecast, Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro, and Vimeo Video streaming service.
  • Ability to use Google calendars and apps.
