About The Position

Under direct supervision, the TFS Data Analyst Associate performs a variety of technical duties associated with the retrieval, processing, validation, editing of TFS IPS commissioning and maintenance data. This role involves interacting with appropriate field and office personnel to review, investigate, and resolve improperly entered/incomplete data that poses a compliance risk. The position also provides support with other compliance-related activities, including developing reports for metrics, and performing investigation/mitigation activities associated with PRC-005, PRC-004, and PRC-002. This position is posted at multiple grade levels and offers a range of opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Technology or in mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, or a related technical or business discipline; no experience required.
  • OR Associate's Degree in mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, or a related technical or business discipline with two (2) years of experience in an analytical or technical field.
  • OR High School Diploma / GED with four (4) years of experience in an analytical or technical field.
  • Experience with PC-based Windows software such as Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail required to ensure accurate and complete compliance data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for working relationships with downstream and upstream service stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop proficiency with the IPS asset database
  • Review IPS maintenance/commissioning actions and ensure corrections are completed
  • Develop and maintain automated IPS Review tools
  • Publish weekly PRC-005 reports
  • Publish weekly Unresolved Maintenance Issue (UMI) report and track open issues
  • Develop and present basic training, videos, procedures, monthly newsletter to promote data quality
  • Communicate data quality status and issues to TFS supervision
  • Provide support with audit preparation
  • Develop understanding of self-certification for the purpose of utilizing tools to execute self-certification on a more frequent interval
  • Communicate and work with TFS Policy & Procedures on IPS changes impacting data
  • File data quality process and procedure documents on the TFS AR&C ShareNow Compliance site
  • Gather PRC-004 data for the purpose of publishing quarterly metrics and CAP applicability monitoring
  • Publish PRC-002 compliance report
  • Assist with compliance incident investigation
  • Prepare Data Quality metrics for weekly team meetings
  • Investigate communication methods (email, reports, dashboards, etc.)
  • Perform validation checks to ensure accurate measurement and reports are provided.
  • Develop working understanding of various NERC reliability standards
  • Review compliance related data as assigned (including IPS maintenance/commissioning actions)
  • Work independently or as part of the Data Quality team to ensure compliance data is audit ready
  • Publish weekly PRC-005 reports and follow-up as needed to prevent an out of interval maintenance self-report
  • Publish Unresolved Maintenance Issue (UMI) report, track progress and develop metrics
  • Participate and present compliance topics at TFS P&C Supervisor meetings
  • Provide communication of data and compliance trends to TFS management
  • Determine interval matrix for self-certification activities
  • Recommend IPS data changes to TFS Policy & Procedures to improve data integrity
  • Maintain and develop TFS AR&C ShareNow Compliance site
  • Work with TFS Fault Analysis personnel on data validation and analysis
  • Develop technical expertise to assist with troubleshooting of DME issues
  • Lead compliance incident investigations
  • Review PRC-002 site documentation evidence annually
  • Review Data Quality review procedures against applicable NERC standards
  • Perform audit of another data quality team geographic area
  • Become familiar with TFS supervision and management across all five Transmission regions
  • Develop and provide compliance training to Transmission personnel as needed
  • Facilitate Data Quality team meetings

  • Standard base pay is: TFS Data Analyst Assc - $63,496-$79,369 /year. TFS Data Analyst - $74,551-$93,189 /year.
