Testing Manager

Enerflex Ltd•Houston, TX

About The Position

The Testing Manager leads the safe planning, coordination, and execution of factory and site testing for packaged power generation systems, from test readiness through performance verification and turnover to commissioning or customer acceptance. The role is the primary testing interface among Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, HSE, commissioning personnel, OEM representatives, customers, and third-party witnesses. It establishes testing strategy, readiness requirements, system boundaries, procedures, resources, sequencing, acceptance criteria, issue resolution, and test records, while preserving the independent authority of Quality, Engineering, and designated contractual-acceptance functions. The manager develops project-specific testing execution plans and reviews contracts, specifications, OEM obligations, Inspection and Test Plans, factory acceptance test requirements, performance guarantees, and customer obligations. The position participates in design, readiness, operability, risk, constructability, and lessons-learned reviews; coordinates handoffs; leads readiness reviews; and develops and reviews procedures, checklists, data sheets, test boundaries, stabilization requirements, calculation methods, and acceptance criteria for approval by authorized functions. It confirms that qualified personnel, calibrated instruments, equipment, OEM support, witnesses, approved procedures, energy controls, and prerequisites are available, and coordinates resolution of conditions that could affect safety, quality, warranty, cost, schedule, or test validity. The role leads and coordinates factory and site testing for generator packages and related equipment and interfaces. It supports pre-commissioning checks, energization, first-fire, synchronization, load acceptance, functional testing, reliability runs, troubleshooting, startup, and performance verification within company scope. The Testing Manager coordinates daily execution, leads diagnosis and recovery planning, ensures testing follows approved requirements, verifies test conditions and data, maintains readiness and test records, and coordinates phased turnover. Quality independently verifies required inspection records, and the designated turnover function compiles the final dossier. The Testing Manager does not independently approve engineering changes, quality deviations, NCR closure, contractual acceptance, commercial commitments, or warranty disposition unless delegated in writing. The position leads safe testing in compliance with HSE requirements, permits, energy-isolation procedures, LOTO, electrical-safety rules, test-area controls, and site-specific requirements. It coordinates staffing, mobilization, travel, equipment, temporary utilities, OEM support, specialty vendors, and shift coverage. Work takes place in office, manufacturing, test-area, construction-site, and operating-facility environments. Domestic travel is expected, with occasional international travel as required; extended site assignments and non-standard schedules may be required for critical testing and turnover.
