About The Position

Viridian Staffing's Client is looking for an experienced Senior Analytical Chemist / Lab Manager to join a cannabis testing facility in the Yonkers, New York, Area. In this role, you'll get the opportunity to oversee the operations of a licensed Cannabis Testing Facility. You will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods, that are in compliance with requirements set by the State of New York. Using your proven success in testing accuracy in the cannabis industry, you will enforce and improve on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and are very dedicated to quality. While developing these SOP's/workflows, you'll ensure the team is in compliance with all regulations and SOPs relating to safety, security, and health as well. You'll use your exceptional written and verbal communication skills, to help convey test results, and when necessary, recommend solutions to licensed cannabis operations. You are known for your ability to develop and grow your team in the Lab and motivate members of the team to do their best work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or relevant degree.
• 7+ years of laboratory operation experience.
• 2+ years experience managing laboratory workers.
• At least 1+ years of experience operating a licensed cannabis or environmental testing lab.
• Experience conducting analytical tests for mold, heavy metals, and pesticides.
• Experience conducting tests for potency.
• Customer focused mindset.
• Analytical with an understanding of mathematical applications.
• Ability to ramp up on equipment and computer systems quickly.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
