About The Position

The Tester will perform electrical, mechanical, and system-level testing according to engineering procedures, test scripts, and work instructions. This role involves operating test equipment, troubleshooting issues, verifying quality, and documenting findings. The successful candidate will adhere to safety procedures, ensure equipment calibration, follow standardized testing processes, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams is essential for timely issue resolution and project completion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation
  • Experience using multimeters, insulation testers, torque tools, and other electrical test equipment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and test reporting systems
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to lift between 50 and 100 pounds assisted.
  • Able to learn to work with all hand tools required of all positions within the area, including general work tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, brazing and wiring tools and equipment, forklifts, etc.
  • Able to effectively direct the flow of others.
  • Able to foster teamwork and resolve conflict.
  • Able to learn and utilize materials tracking system.
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday.
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, push and pull.
  • Perform grasping, handling, and repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Maintain manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools, equipment, machinery controls, and computer devices as required.
  • Safely operate hand tools, light power tools, and rotating equipment as required by the position.
  • Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the position.
  • Ability to climb and descend ladders, stairs, platforms and work areas safely as required by the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous electrical testing, industrial manufacturing, or commissioning experience preferred
  • Able to work long hours and a variety of shits as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and system-level testing according to engineering procedures, test scripts, and work instructions.
  • Safely operate meters, power supplies, load banks, diagnostic tools, and other testing equipment to validate system performance.
  • Identify, diagnose, and document electrical or mechanical issues; collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Verify proper installation, wiring integrity, torque values, labeling, and overall build compliance prior to testing.
  • Accurately complete test reports, inspection checklists, redlines, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash protection, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times.
  • Ensure testing equipment is within calibration requirements prior to use and report any discrepancies.
  • Follow standardized testing procedures to maintain consistency, reliability, and repeatability of results.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and on-time project completion.
