About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Tester Team Leader. The hours for this position are Mon-Fri, 6am-2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $35 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing electrical testing (troubleshooting, circuits, testing electronics, product testing, system diagnosis).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience wiring Switchboard or Power Distribution products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, and component functionality.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of all assembled SWBD product designs (i.e. PRL-C, PRL-I, IFS, etc.)
  • Requires thorough knowledge related to wiring of various components
  • Requires thorough knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, component functionality, and assembly processes on all lines. (HiPot , Shunt Trip, PLC, HMI, component Testing, configuration, NETA testing, and communication)
  • Requires competency in applicable UL codes, NEC codes, regional utility codes, customer-specific requirements.
  • Requires the ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, MIs, Blow-Thrus, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.
  • Requires the ability to work with multi-meters, the ability to trouble shoot complex electronics, and to follow established safety procedures.
  • Requires thorough knowledge in troubleshooting wiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • 5 years of experience performing electrical testing (troubleshooting, circuits, testing electronics, product testing, system diagnosis).
  • BS in engineering, or technical degree with experience
  • Computer skills include Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Plant Order Manager (POM), ENOVIA, DMM, AS400, Mapics, and Vista.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination / flow expertise, support, and direction in all areas of Quality Test to increase profitability and align performance with production goals, quality standards, and customer service objectives. The overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards.
  • Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed.
  • Receive and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers so as to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner. Closely follow established procedures for completing assigned function and perform special assignments and/or projects as assigned.
  • Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. Keep assigned work-area clean and organized per 5S standards.
  • Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignment. Receive information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements and utilize this information to perform one’s function.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills so as to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process.
  • Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.
  • Document nonconformance’s, which are critical quality records, to aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Communicate production non-conformances to appropriate production personnel in a timely manner and verify required rework. Communicate design errors to appropriate front-end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework.
  • Receive work assignment from supervisor and prioritize jobs based upon customer requirements and urgency of order. Effectively communicate daily quality goals to functional team.
  • Work directly with the manufacturing and quality teams to ensure customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure workflow is conducive to ensure business goals are met.
  • Provide on-the-job training and develop needs of the test and production teams regarding quality concerns. Serve as a resource for quality testers and functional teams as first point of contact.
  • Understand the metrics necessary for quality and production to provide a clear flow and immediate responses to rework, revisions, test cycle time, work in progress (WIP), warranty occurrences, etc.
  • Work on projects and special assignment as required.
  • Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
