About The Position

The Tester role involves performing routine and specialty production and Quality Assurance (QA) testing according to customer specifications and internal standards (SPIs). Key duties include conducting coil checks, first-off production tests, and all dry and final electrical testing. The individual must be fully trained and knowledgeable in all production test equipment within the plant. Responsibilities also extend to providing guidance to production team leads and workers for correcting errors, troubleshooting manufacturing technical issues, and ensuring product conformance through mechanical, dimensional, and physical appearance inspections. The Tester is responsible for completing engineering defect/testing sheets, managing quality hold tags, reporting quality issues to supervisors, assisting with the review of facility SPIs and internal documents, performing internal audits to ISO standards, attending quality meetings, and participating in quality-related training. Additionally, the role supports the HPS Quality Management System (QMS) program through data collection.

Requirements

  • Be fully trained and knowledgeable with all production test equipment in the plant.
  • Understand and apply necessary troubleshooting skills to assist production in repairing any manufacturing technical issues and inconsistencies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialty production and QA testing as required by SPI’s or requested by customer specifications. These include coil checks, production 1st off’s and all dry and final electrical testing requirements.
  • Be fully trained and knowledgeable with all production test equipment in the plant.
  • Provide guidance and direction to production team leads or workers to ensure proper action is taken to correct production error.
  • Understand and apply necessary troubleshooting skills to assist production in repairing any manufacturing technical issues and inconsistencies that arise from production and QA tests.
  • Perform any necessary mechanical, dimensional and physical appearance inspections to ensure product is in conformance with all HPS quality system requirements.
  • Complete engineering MOS system defect/testing sheets for all MIP or production error information and forward to the Quality Assurance Supervisor for processing.
  • Complete quality hold tags including as required and place unit in containment.
  • Report any other production quality issues or quality information directly to team leads, production supervisor and quality supervisor.
  • Assist in review of facility SPIs and internal reference documents.
  • Assist in performing internal audits of plant processes to ensure conformance to current ISO standards.
  • Attend quality meetings and participate in any quality related training deemed necessary by the quality supervisor.
  • Assist QA/Testing supervisor with any other data collection deemed necessary to support the HPS QMS program.
