About The Position

The Health & Services Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Section 508 Tester. The customer is primarily located in the Washington DC area but the position is telework. This is an exciting opposition to help shape the future technology roadmap for a large government agency. In this role, the Section 508 Tester will primarily support accessibility compliance efforts by evaluating applications and systems to ensure adherence to Section 508 standards and accessibility guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (~4-6 relevant applicable working experience) and 3–5+ years of experience in accessibility testing or QA.
  • Performing accessibility testing of applications using automated and manual tools.
  • Identifying and documenting accessibility issues based on Section 508 and WCAG standards.
  • Supporting remediation efforts by working with development teams.
  • Validating fixes and ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements.
  • Preparing accessibility compliance reports and documentation.
  • Collaboration with QA and development teams to integrate accessibility into testing processes.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0/2.1 standards.
  • Experience with Accessibility testing tools (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, Axe, Wave).
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and UI components.
  • Successful completion of Public Trust (MBI).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand, gather, and document business requirements.
  • Design, configure, and build Pega applications, including case management, workflows, user interfaces, and business logic using Pega tools (App Studio, Dev Studio).
  • Implement integration points with databases, web services (REST/SOAP), and legacy systems to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.
  • Perform unit and integration testing, debug applications, and support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet quality standards and performance requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation of application design, configurations, and system changes.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot technical issues, and enhance existing workflows.
  • Ensure all work adheres to Pega development best practices and guardrails.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
