About The Position

The position is for a VIRGINA/COLUMBIA Test Writer responsible for reviewing and preparing Construction Support Diagrams, Flushing Diagrams, Test Pressure Diagrams, and Test Procedures to support shipboard testing of submarine systems and equipment in non-nuclear and nuclear areas, and for preparing test documentation for use in accomplishing inspections and shipboard testing of submarine systems and equipment. The Candidate will be responsible for developing new test diagrams from input provided by Engineering, by reviewing applicable drawings and documentations. The Candidate will be responsible for developing Test Procedures and derivative diagrams from Engineering input, by reviewing applicable drawings and documentation. The individual will also be responsible for incorporating previously approved changes and new changes into a revision of the existing document.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Familiarity with working with PC based systems and/or software requirements.
  • Ability to review and comprehend engineering drawings and technical data
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding specifications, technical manuals and other source documents related to test documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • NX/Team Center, Visio, or Auto Cad experience
  • Operating/Testing/Service experience with submarine systems
  • Previous technical writing experience or technical work documents or formal work packages
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word is desired.
