About The Position

We are seeking a Test Technician to join our Test Department, supporting the functional testing and diagnostics of complex electronic assemblies, including PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using industry-standard test equipment and a strong understanding of electronic components and schematics. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, supporting engineering feedback loops, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience using industry-standard test equipment
  • Strong understanding of electronic components and schematics
  • Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators
  • Ability to understand assembly schematics and diagnose PCBA failures
  • Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) for tracking time and job status
  • Ability to review test instructions during the Quote process
  • Knowledge of Safety, ESD, ITAR and QMS protocols
  • Experience with Lean activities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating or programming a flying probe machine
  • Experience with vibration testing and/or temperature testing equipment
  • Experience in test fixture maintenance
  • Experience in rewriting customer test instructions
  • Experience in updating engineering with red lines of test instructions
  • Experience in training others

Responsibilities

  • Operate functional tests on a variety of electronic assemblies with varying complexity, ensuring results are up to customer requirements
  • Operate and potentially program flying probe machine on assemblies as needed
  • Utilize electronics lab equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators to perform tests and necessary diagnostics
  • Understand assembly schematics and diagnose PCBA's failures
  • Occasional utilization of vibration testing and/or temperature testing equipment
  • Assist in test fixture maintenance, organization, and reporting of any equipment needed in the test department
  • Communicate test issues to internal team
  • Record and capture first pass yield and defect data
  • Provide suggestions on rewriting of customer test instructions and updating engineering with any red lines of test instructions
  • Assist in training
  • Be a role model by following and re-enforcing Safety, ESD, ITAR and QMS protocols.
  • Actively participate in Lean activities and embrace change, as a minimum, give feed back regarding changes to ensure stability and sustainability
  • Continually look for ways to improve product flow and reduce waste
  • Follow procedures as defined in the SFE quality documentation that pertain to your function.
  • Help update procedures and work instructions as needed to match current process
  • Work in a manner that meets or exceeds quality level and timely completion of work in accordance with production schedules
  • Use the MES to track time the status of jobs
  • Review test instructions during Quote process
