About The Position

The Test Technician - bench is responsible for performing verification testing on circuit boards and various assemblies. Responsibilities involve performing testing and troubleshooting with basic meters of uninterruptible power systems equipment, such as inverters, rectifiers, chargers, static switches, AC regulators and associated equipment. This role also includes basic circuit analysis and interpreting schematics and assembly prints.

Requirements

  • Technology background with at least 5 years’ experience in power electronics.
  • Versatile hands-on individual with good analytical skills.
  • Experience with power in the ranges of 480 VAC 3phase and 240 VDC.
  • Knowledge of DC/AC principles and electrical language.
  • Associates degree in Electronics Engineering Technology; Diploma or Certificate in Electronics program or equivalent experience or Military equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic skills on soldering (thru hole as well as SMT).
  • Basic electro/mechanical assembly skills.
  • Proficient with the use of hand tools.
  • Knowledge in the use of multi-meters and other basic instruments.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of multi-purpose test instruments such as oscilloscopes, component testers, digital test equipment.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, assembly prints, schematics and parts lists.
  • Understanding of electronic circuits.
  • Computer literate with some knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage time with little supervision.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Some knowledge of AC/DC power electronics.
  • Willingness to work with voltages as high as 480 VAC 3phase and 240 VDC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
