Our San Diego Manufacturing Depot provides sustainment support for legacy Raytheon magnetics products used in Aegis and Patriot Radar systems. We specialize in building and repairing electrical transformers, power supplies, and magnetic assemblies, with capabilities that include coil winding, electrical assembly, soldering, encapsulation, welding/machining, and electrical testing. The Test Technician will be responsible for conducting tests on electronic and mechanical systems, ensuring high-quality standards are met. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, document test procedures, and maintain test equipment. The successful candidate will join a small, highly skilled team directly supporting the warfighter mission. This position follows a 9/80 work schedule.

Requirements

Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a testing environment
Experience with test and evaluation measurement equipment, including (but not limited to) DMMs, Generators, Oscilloscopes, Partial-discharge detectors, Digital/Analog high-voltage meters, Hipot Testers, etc.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Experience in troubleshooting electronic systems and equipment at a component level using schematics, test equipment and technical procedures.
Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, or electrical testing.
Familiarity with defense or AS9100/ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
Experience working effectively in a small, high-performing team environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct functional and performance testing on electronic and mechanical systems.
Evaluate failed electrical assemblies and components using test and measurement equipment to determine the root cause of failure down to the component level – with strong emphasis on high voltage testing and evaluation hands-on experience.
Document test procedures and results accurately.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test processes and methodologies.
Work with senior Electrical Engineering, test technicians, and product Quality Assurance towards evaluating, repairing, and moving failed assemblies through established Repair & Return processes.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
Read and fully interpret Assembly Drawings, Work Instructions, Test Procedures and Schematics.
Generate reports on test status, issues, and actions.
