About The Position

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI) is seeking a 1st Shift Test Technician for their Clarksburg, MD Campus. This role involves performing board and unit level testing, connecting test equipment, and reporting issues to the team lead. The technician will also be responsible for running tests, supporting Environmental Stress Testing (ESS), and working safely with high voltage equipment. Maintaining a clean work area and adhering to ESD and FOD policies are also key aspects of the position. TDSI has been serving defense domains for 60 years and supports U.S. Joint Services, special operations forces, and multinational partners with various communication, visualization, electronic warfare, and sensor/sonar capabilities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
  • 2 year Electronic degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 2 – 4 years of equivalent experience.
  • Flying Probe or In-Circuit Testing Experience required.
  • Basic understanding of electronics terminology and application. Ex: Volts, Amps, Ohms, Phase, Modulation, dBm, dBc, Intermodulation, etc.
  • Familiar with AC, DC, RF test and measurement equipment operation.
  • Experience using Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs with or without assistance.
  • Shall be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP S/4/Hana preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform board and unit level testing per test procedures with minimum supervision.
  • Properly connect test equipment.
  • Keep team lead informed of stack and product issues.
  • Properly sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, and follow all manufacturing guidelines and procedures.
  • Run most tests in factory.
  • Support Environmental Stress Testing (ESS) with minimum supervision.
  • Work safely with high voltage and high power transmitters.
  • Maintain a neat and tidy work area and be compliant with ESD and FOD policies.
