About The Position

NextDeavor is seeking a Part-Time Test Technician to ensure the reliable performance of electro and electromechanical assemblies. This role involves executing tests, troubleshooting failures, and communicating findings to production and engineering. The position is onsite, part-time, on the 2nd shift (Thursday–Saturday, 3:30pm–2:00am), with a potential initial training period requiring Monday–Wednesday evening availability. The role offers an opportunity to gain experience at a well-established corporation with potential for extended or permanent full-time employment.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Secondary Certificate / High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Vocational training, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Familiarity with electronic assembly standards, solder quality, and basic rework practices
  • Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and automated test systems
  • Experience with documentation in a controlled environment (aerospace experience noted)
  • Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics and solid troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications; good oral and written communication and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • ESD control experience
  • IPC certification or soldering/assembly knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and BOM information

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mechanical and electromechanical testing of small parts and components per written instructions and procedures
  • Set up and operate test equipment (oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal generators, power supplies, frequency counters, spectrum/network analyzers) to verify circuitry and component performance
  • Troubleshoot analog and digital circuitry down to the micro component level and perform failure analysis
  • Review shop travelers, route cards, schematics, drawings, and BOM-related information to confirm correct sequences and verify repairs
  • Provide detailed written failure descriptions and root cause analysis to production and engineering
  • Maintain accurate documentation in a controlled (aerospace-like) environment and follow all company policies and safety rules
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; work nights, weekends, and additional hours as necessary
