About The Position

PCX Corporation is looking for an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Testing Technician to become a part of our rapidly growing company servicing the Data Center, Commercial Construction, and Renewable Energy markets. This position will be based in Knightdale, North Carolina. The Test Technician is responsible for validating the function, performance, and quality of engineered electrical and mechanical systems. This role supports production by ensuring all assemblies meet design specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements. The position requires hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in an electrical/mechanical systems environment OR 1–2 years of experience plus a 2-year technical or electrical degree
  • Minimum 6–12 months of hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting control systems, busbar assemblies, or transformers (up to 480V)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Working knowledge of switchgear operation and electrical testing practices
  • Familiarity with PLC ladder logic and instrumentation diagrams
  • Understanding of NEC, UL, and ETL standards for low-voltage systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional testing and validation of electrical and electro-mechanical systems, including switchgear and power distribution equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, ladder logic, and instrumentation diagrams
  • Inspect assemblies for cosmetic, electrical, and mechanical defects and document findings using non-conformance processes
  • Execute testing in compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety procedures
  • Configure and validate meters, relays, and control devices as required
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, ETL)
  • Support integration and testing of custom electrical/mechanical systems
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, suppliers, and customers to resolve issues and improve product quality
