This position includes testing equipment after assembly, troubleshooting unit issues by reading schematics and using troubleshooting tools such as Volt Meters. The position may include supporting all Arctic lines in Grand Rapids and may require off shift and weekend work, along with overtime. The operator may work with engineering, managers and lead techs on maintaining flow to the lines. The operator will be required to work around live low voltage and high voltage, so electrical safety knowledge is a must.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge and experience in basic mechanical maintenance, electronics, wiring schemes and electrical work and how they work together
  • Ability to braze
  • Great knowledge in electrical safety
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to read schematics and use a variety of different tools such as a Volt Meter, Hipot and Calipers
  • Good verbal communication and excellent analytical/problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate a positive work attitude
  • Ability to keep up with high volume in a fast-moving environment
  • Follows company safety policies
  • Promotes company safety policies to team members and subcontractors
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
  • Highschool or GED
  • Basic math skills, understanding of decimals and fractions for measurement
  • Ability to read and write English for assembly directions, Work Order packets and safety instructions
  • Completion of basic Safety Orientation
  • Ability to learn more than 1 station
  • Valid driver's license

  • Basic programming skills is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Testing equipment after assembly
  • Troubleshooting unit issues by reading schematics and using troubleshooting tools such as Volt Meters
  • Supporting all Arctic lines in Grand Rapids
  • Working with engineering, managers and lead techs on maintaining flow to the lines
  • Working around live low voltage and high voltage
  • Providing technical support to customers when required on assigned projects
  • Providing technical support, service, or training at customer site when needed
  • Supports the QMS by delivering quality products and services and meeting quality objectives
  • Works to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements
  • Continuously strives for operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
