About The Position

The Production Technician performs a variety of hands-on assembly operations in a manufacturing environment to safely and efficiently assemble components while meeting established quality and production standards. This position operates equipment and tools, inspects parts, maintains a clean and organized work area, and supports continuous improvement initiatives while rotating through multiple production processes.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and a variety of measuring devices.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply information presented in work instructions, charts, graphs, memos, and other visual materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to remain focused on repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Successful completion of Basic Skills and Orientation training within one month of employment.
  • Basic knowledge of quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.

  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate production equipment, air tools, gauges, and other tools to assemble components.
  • Perform assembly tasks including installing, inserting, torquing, purging, wiping, and inspecting parts for quality and cosmetic defects.
  • Operate production machines and equipment using control panel functions; monitor test equipment and assist with basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Visually inspect parts for damage and defects, including porosity, surface roughness, and cosmetic imperfections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing 5S activities, including sweeping, mopping, wiping equipment, taping floors, and cleaning walkways.
  • Read and interpret work instructions, process charts, graphs, measuring instruments, and poka-yoke devices.
  • Utilize the Andon call system to report equipment malfunctions or quality concerns.
  • Rotate through multiple production loops and processes as assigned.
  • Replenish and stock parts and materials as needed.
  • Achieve proficiency in a minimum of four production loops/processes within 90 days of employment.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and Quality Circle activities to support continuous improvement.
  • Work overtime, including weekdays and weekends, as directed by the immediate supervisor or as necessary to meet production requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
