The Test Technician II performs technical testing and troubleshooting work in an onsite aerospace manufacturing environment. The role sets up and operates test stands, configures equipment for special tests, records and interprets test results, and identifies and isolates equipment failures. It uses diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units down to the subassembly and component level, while referring to technical documents such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics. The technician collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and other team members, communicates work status and shift handoffs, and performs tasks under detailed written or verbal instructions. The position also involves entry-level troubleshooting, calibration, or modification of hardware, fixtures, and software; supporting project teams; prioritizing tasks and managing workflow; resolving problems and maintaining documentation; evaluating non-conformances; and fabricating hardware, tools, equipment, or prototypes from drawings or sketches. The technician may estimate labor, material, and manufacturing costs, accurately record time changes, test data, and parts usage, and use databases to support decision-making. Work requires limited data interpretation and some ingenuity and judgment under changing conditions.
