About The Position

This role involves performing various tests and experiments on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies. The technician will use basic and complex test equipment, troubleshoot issues, repair defective parts, and analyze data to ensure product conformance to specifications. The position also requires documenting technical data, collaborating with engineers and team members, and participating in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Requires some knowledge of electronic theory and mathematics.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to read and understand diagnostic data.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to solve complex problems without assistance.
  • Strong technical communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other database software operations.
  • Occasional physical activity including walking, standing, lifting to 25 pounds (over 25 pounds with assistance).

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of test software is desirable.
  • Soldering may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Construct assemblies from drawings, sketches, schematics, technical manuals, and instructions.
  • Use basic test equipment (e.g., multimeters) to troubleshoot, debug, and make routine measurements on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies following prescribed test procedures.
  • Set up and use test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators) to test, align, calibrate, and troubleshoot to verify proper product function.
  • Repair and replace defective parts and components.
  • Perform assembly and repair duties as required.
  • Conduct various tests or experiments of moderate complexity, potentially requiring modifications to test set-ups or procedures.
  • Analyze data to check and verify applicability, practicality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Extract and compile technical data from recognized sources with general direction and present it as required.
  • Set up and operate complex test and/or experimental equipment, record test data, process the data, and present the data.
  • Discuss technical problems encountered with Team Leader, a more senior level technician, or Engineering.
  • Perform functional and operational tests and establish procedures and data sheets for transitional programs or product improvements.
  • Work with Manufacturing or QMO Engineers to transition new products and test procedures to the manufacturing floor.
  • Provide technical instructions to other team members and/or support personnel.
  • Participate and contribute to continuous improvement activities by recommending efficient processes/procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
