About The Position

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is seeking a Test Operations & Engineering Manager (Level K) in Berkeley, Missouri. This role involves managing represented Flight Operations Mechanics and Tooling Mechanics within the Test Operations & Engineering organization, supporting Air Dominance, Phantom Works, and Weapons programs. The Test Operations & Engineering organization provides crucial support to a wide variety of testing labs across Lab and Flight Test, collaborating frequently with BDS programs and production operations. Mechanics work directly with engineering, technicians, and test teams to provide multi-shift operations support, covering test capabilities such as structures, electromagnetics, aero, and environmental tests, as well as internal fabrication and assembly of test hardware. The team is expanding and is looking for a shop manager to oversee off-shifts in a dynamic work environment with numerous business partners across various programs and tests.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment

  • 3+ years of experience with Lean+ and/or Lean 5S
  • Experience with BPSM/RCCA processes
  • Experience leading a team for process improvements
  • Knowledge of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products required to effectively perform functional responsibilities
  • Experience working with business partners for integrated schedules, work instructions and planning, estimating, and cost analyses

  • Responsibility for the safety and quality of the team’s work, including hazard mitigation, corrective action, and BPSM/RCCA participation
