About The Position

Estrada Consulting, Inc. (ECI) is seeking an experienced Test Lead Analyst to support the enhancement, maintenance, and operation of critical utility management applications, including OSI AspenTech Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), Outage Management System (OMS), Monarch, and Compass. The role leads and performs testing and quality assurance activities, working with technical teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and end users. The position is based in Sacramento, California, with a hybrid arrangement. Onsite work is required Tuesday through Thursday, with occasional Monday and Friday onsite work as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, eight hours per day, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Pacific Time. Candidates must have reliable internet access and perform all work within the United States. The contract duration is January 4, 2027 through December 31, 2027.

Requirements

Minimum of 7–10 years working in Information Technology, including experience in the utility sector.
At least two years of experience working with different OSI AspenTech ADMS Monarch applications.
At least two years of experience working with OSI AspenTech OMS and Compass applications.
At least seven years of experience performing software testing and quality assurance activities.
Prior experience and understanding of GIS models.
Strong understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, testing strategies, and defect management processes.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex application issues and perform root cause analysis.
Ability to interpret business requirements and develop comprehensive testing documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues to nontechnical stakeholders.
Experience collaborating with vendors, technical teams, and business users.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to cross-functional teams.
Reliable internet access and ability to perform all work within the United States.

Nice To Haves

Experience using test automation tools to support software testing activities.
Hands-on experience with defect tracking and management tools such as HP ALM, Jira, or similar platforms.
Two to three years of experience creating process maps and translating business processes into test plans and test scripts.
Experience working within Waterfall, Agile, and Iterative software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for ADMS/OMS Monarch and Compass applications and interfaces.
Translate business and functional requirements into executable testing plans and scripts.
Perform functional, integration, regression, end-user, and performance testing.
Collaborate with stakeholders to establish testing criteria and validate application functionality.
Identify, isolate, reproduce, document, and track software defects and application issues.
Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate defect resolution with technical teams, vendors, and end users.
Lead and participate in defect resolution meetings and troubleshooting sessions.
Verify defect fixes and conduct retesting to confirm successful resolution.
Maintain detailed testing documentation, including test results, defect reports, and testing artifacts.
Perform post-testing data cleanup, including reviewing, correcting, deleting, and re-entering data as necessary.
Provide occasional technical support to end users of ADMS/OMS Monarch and Compass applications.
Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and results to project managers and technical stakeholders.
Participate in project meetings, planning sessions, and technical reviews.
Ensure compliance with applicable security, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
