Test Lab Technician
About The Position
The Test Lab Technician will be responsible for conducting and documenting mechanical testing according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and product specifications. This role involves verifying product quality, functionality, performance, and compliance with standards. The technician will also review and process test requests and reports, assist in the design and maintenance of test systems, build test fixtures, and perform component and system-level testing. Maintaining accurate test records, monitoring laboratory equipment, analyzing performance metrics, and recommending improvements are key aspects of this position. Additionally, the role supports the procurement of test equipment and software, provides technical guidance to other technicians, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2+ years of work experience
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Associate Degree or Technical Certificate in related field.
- Mechanical experience or experience in a related technical field
Responsibilities
- Conduct and document mechanical testing per SOPs, work instructions, and product specifications
- Verify product quality, functionality, performance, and compliance with standards
- Review and process test requests and test reports from internal and external customers
- Assist with the design, build, integration, validation, and maintenance of test systems
- Build test fixtures and execute component and system-level testing
- Maintain accurate test records using appropriate software and documentation tools
- Monitor laboratory equipment performance and ensure equipment readiness and compliance
- Analyze lab performance metrics and recommend process improvements
- Evaluate and support procurement of test equipment and laboratory software
- Provide technical guidance and support to Test Lab Technicians and other team members
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as needed
