About The Position

The Test Engineering Technician Intern assists senior technicians in documenting, performing, and improving maintenance on production lines. The position involves building, repairing, and maintaining test hardware on the production floor, as well as training test operators and periodically inspecting their work and providing refresher courses when necessary.

Requirements

• Have a complete understanding of electronic components and basic knowledge of their properties and functions.
• Be familiar with basic system troubleshooting concepts and common hand tools, such as drills, wrenches, and calipers.
• Be familiar with spreadsheet and word-processing applications.
• Have above-average communication skills and communicate effectively one-on-one, in small and large groups, and with people across diverse styles and position levels.
• Be able to collaborate and work as part of a large group of diverse employees.
• Be able to sit, talk, hear, stand, and walk as needed throughout the work shift.
• Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Have the vision abilities required for close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.
• Be an undergraduate in an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electronics Technology program.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with factory environments and/or electronics assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for safety and report anomalies in equipment, procedures, and products.
• Create maintenance and break-fix documentation for production test equipment and maintain accurate logs of issue root causes and resolutions.
• Assist senior technicians with debugging and repairing test equipment failures.
• Help build, repair, and maintain production-floor test hardware.
• Provide training to test operators, periodically inspect their work, and provide refresher courses when necessary.
