About The Position

The Test Engineering Technician III Specialist is responsible for supporting operations and maintenance of vehicle testing facilities at the Toyota Arizona Proving Ground (TAPG). This role includes daily operations support and coordination, with a strong focus on continuous improvement of the vehicle test site at TAPG, and upholds a professional working relationship with all associates and sets an example for other employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel).
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license with clean record.
  • 2-5 years of site maintenance support experience required.
  • Experience in preventative and corrective maintenance required.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Fabrication experience.
  • A proven track record of problem solving an independent root cause analysis.
  • Strong interest in automotive industry.
  • Ability to apply logical thinking and decision making based on procedures and guidelines supplied in the various task assignments.
  • Must be self-motivated and well organized with an ability to produce clear, organized, and timely documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Job requires sitting, standing, and bending for approximately 6 – 8 hours each day.
  • Must be able to work well under stressful conditions.
  • Must be flexible and available to work overtime, and hours outside of normal demands, including weekends and Holidays.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the general direction of the customer’s Supervisor, Kett Account Manager as needed.
  • Be the eyes and ears for the remote facilities, maintenance, and construction teams, serving as a single point of contact for: maintenance vendors (in cooperation with the ABM maintenance technician), construction vendors/suppliers for both small and large works projects, EHS, and facilities teams
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment, equipment repairs, coordination of vendors for optimal timing at the site, and coordinate with the on-site vehicle test and development teams to determine the optimal downtime for equipment for repair or maintenance
  • Coordinate logistics of vendor construction equipment and repairs to minimize loss of vehicle test time
  • Implement site improvements to be compliant with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Coordinate as backup support to the ABM maintenance technician on site for two person jobs or as a backfill when the ABM maintenance technician is not on site
  • Operate a fofklift and skyjack as needed to support site improvements
  • Provide operational support.
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance activities.
  • Assist with training of new personnel when needed.
  • Champion safety, act as a role model, share passion and positivity for the role and support of the project.
