About The Position

The Test Engineering Technician I at Jabil, Inc. supports manufacturing and engineering by performing testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies and systems. This role assists in the development and implementation of test processes and equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or test environment, preferably in electronics.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits, components, and test methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using common test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good manual dexterity for handling small components and performing soldering/rework as needed.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional and in-circuit testing on various electronic components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Identify and diagnose failures, malfunctions, and defects in electronic assemblies using schematics, diagrams, and test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers).
  • Perform root cause analysis on identified defects and recommend corrective actions to engineers.
  • Repair or rework defective units to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of test fixtures, equipment, and automated test systems.
  • Collect, record, and analyze test data; generate reports on test results and findings.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate new products, processes, and equipment.
  • Provide feedback to engineers on design flaws or improvements that could enhance testability or product reliability.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
