About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Test Engineer to join their team. This position will be located in Herndon, VA. The role involves devising testing plans, methods, and equipment to ensure product reliability in conjunction with product design and specifications. The Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment, as well as planning and arranging the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating devices. This includes providing test area parameters, specifying tests, compiling data, and defining necessary changes in equipment, procedures, or manufacturing processes. The role also entails testing customer samples and performing special tests, consulting with development teams, performing product analysis and evaluations, developing various types of test plans and scripts, implementing testing processes, producing test reports, tracking metrics, and monitoring for continual test process improvement. Additionally, the Test Engineer will maintain test lab equipment and consumables.

Requirements

  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with HS diploma
  • US Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Expert in DMDC domain with experience working identity management.

Responsibilities

  • Devises testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product in conjunction with product design and specifications.
  • Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
  • Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
  • Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
  • Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements.
  • Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Performs analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of products.
  • Develops testing procedures, test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes.
  • Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.
  • Maintains test lab equipment, cardstock and consumables required to perform testing of applications and hardware.
