About The Position

Join NS2 Mission and help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of mission-critical software solutions supporting the Intelligence Community. Our team is looking for a Test Engineer to join them in the Northern Virginia area. You'll play a key role in validating enterprise applications, improving testing processes, and supporting the delivery of high-quality software across complex mission environments. Working closely with software developers, systems engineers, and program stakeholders, you'll develop and execute test strategies, identify defects, and help drive continuous improvements in software quality. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented engineer who enjoys problem-solving, automation, and ensuring mission systems perform as expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience supporting software testing, quality assurance, or test engineering activities.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
  • Experience working with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and quality assurance best practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • TS/SCI with an FSP clearance requirement.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S security clearance which requires U.S citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing web-based applications developed using Java, J2EE, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver or comparable test automation frameworks.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or enhancing automated test frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software applications within government or Intelligence Community environments.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and automated testing practices.
  • ISTQB Certified Tester
  • SAFe for Teams

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain software test plans, test cases, and test procedures to validate application functionality and performance.
  • Identify, document, track, and assist in resolving software defects and system issues.
  • Support quality assurance activities throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with established standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Participate in formal and informal reviews of software requirements, designs, test plans, and system implementations.
  • Evaluate software, hardware, and supporting documentation to verify functionality, usability, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to identify testing requirements and validate system capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of automated testing solutions that improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Support regression, integration, functional, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Utilize tools such as GitHub, Jira, and Confluence to support testing efforts, defect tracking, documentation, and team collaboration.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of testing processes, frameworks, and quality assurance methodologies.
