About The Position

Torch Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test Engineer to join its team supporting the ACC TO at Eglin AFB, Florida. The role focuses on testing the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) and its life cycle upgrades, including creating realistic scenarios to evaluate the mission-planning environment and assessing the operational suitability of new software. The engineer will work with engineers and project managers, prepare and present technical documentation, and provide analysis and recommendations to senior leaders. The position is onsite, follows a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule, and requires travel of up to 25%.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship.
A master's degree in a technical field and at least 8 years of relevant technical experience working on high-visibility or mission-critical aspects; alternatively, 12 years of relevant technical experience may substitute for the master's degree, or a technical bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant technical experience.
Proven ability to develop and execute test plans involving current complex weapon systems in the inventory.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have and maintain an active current security clearance.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) and its life cycle upgrades.
Use operational expertise to create realistic test scenarios for operational testing of the mission-planning environment.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support successful delivery of mission-critical software.
Draft and present technical documents, including test plans, operational assessments, and final reports.
Provide senior leaders with expert analysis and recommendations on the operational suitability of new mission-planning software.
Travel to support testing and evaluation activities.
